Hal Hoggard is an Associate Attorney at the James Law Firm. Hal is the son of two attorneys here in Arkansas. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics, he went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. He also spent a semester at the University of Arkansas School of Law during the procurement of his JD.

Hal joined the James Law Firm in 2026. He has a wide-ranging knowledge of criminal law. Hal began his practice as a clerk with the Public Defender’s Officer in Faulkner, Van Buren, and Searcy Counties in 2022. He then worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Pulaski County where he handled homicide cases, organized crime, violent offenses, drug offenses, thefts, and other property crimes. Having litigated criminal cases from both sides prior to joining James Law Firm, Hal understands how a criminal case is handled from start to finish.

Hal is a passionate proponent of the Constitution and the rights that it bestows to every person within the United States’ jurisdiction. Pairing this passion with his experience in working criminal cases, Hal has become a dedicated defender for the rights of his clients.
